Students celebrated at 20th Annual Unveiling and Artists' Reception

Ryan Gloyer Middle School (RGMS) students recently displayed their extraordinary artwork during the 20th Annual Unveiling and Artists’ Reception, celebrating additions to the school’s esteemed permanent student art collection. District employees, parents, students and community members were invited to attend the reception held on May 26.

An ongoing tradition since the 2005-06 school year, RGMS art teachers select and vote on which pieces will be added to the collection each year. With the six new additions this year, the collection has grown to 102 pieces!

This year, six students were recognized, including seventh graders Emma Crede for her piece “Don’t Blame Me, I Voted for Kodos,” Aleyna Lightcap for her piece “Woman with Temu-sol,” Madison McNeely for her piece “Jamie Hewlett,” Emily Schweizer for her piece “Disney Mashup,” Aayla Shorr for her piece “Deku vs. Shigoraki,” and eighth grader Shannon Evans for her piece “Gerard Way.”
