The Y.E.S.S. Process

The Y.E.S.S. Process

Referral

Any concerned person, staff member, parent or peer may refer a student whose behavior indicates a possible problem. All referrals are confidential but must be signed by the referring individual.  Y.E.S.S. referral boxes are located in the school’s guidance area, nurse’s office, and in the library. Students may seek help voluntarily through the Y.E.S.S. Core Team or their guidance counselor.

Assessment

The Y.E.S.S. Core Team will gather information on a referral and if significant concern exists a parent will be contacted.  The Core Team recognizes that the parent has the right to decide to utilize the Y.E.S.S. program. A student who is 18 years or older can seek help independently.

Recommendation

The Y.E.S.S. Core Team will make recommendations to the parent, student, and staff regarding ways to enhance a student’s personal development. The Core Team may make a referral to existing school programs, the school mental health liaison, or outside community resources where appropriate.

Follow Up

The Y.E.S.S. Core Team can follow up and monitor a student’s progress.

Confidentiality

ALL referrals and recommendations are confidential.
